Early Childhood and Parenting Programs
Circle of Security Program
This evidence-based 8-week program for parents, carers and early childhood educators is an internationally renowned program informed by decades of attachment theory research. Using a simple graphic to help explain the behaviour of babies, toddlers and children, this program supports adults to recognise the needs being communicated.
Emotional Intelligence Parenting Program
This locally designed facilitated discussion group supports parents to learn about temperament, needs profiling, emotion coaching skills, developmentally appropriate expectations, and topics of interest as they arise. Co-creating resources with the facilitator, this group produces printed resources on topics such as tantrums vs meltdowns as well as tools to support a pathway to finding strategies that will support your child based on their individual needs profile.
Tuning in to Kids Program
This evidence-based 8-week program for parents, carers and early childhood educators was designed by child psychologists from the University of Melbourne and is focused on teaching parents the skills of emotion coaching. This program increases the emotional literacy of both adults and children, supporting parent-child relationships with emotion coaching skills based on decades of research on relationships by the Gottman Institute.
Emotional Intelligence Book Club
A substantial collection of children’s book resources that support emotional literacy as well as an educator library of emotional intelligence focused resources, the E.I Book Club can come to your classroom or early childhood setting. With Australian National Curriculum resources for the Worry Woo series as well as books written by renowned Australian Child Psychologist Karen Young, these stories support children to reflect on emotions, mindsets, and values. The facilitator can design lesson plans to support the emotional intelligence or pastoral care goals of your setting and deliver or co-deliver them to the class, small groups, or work with individual children. Alternatively, the Early Years Program Coordinator can work directly with educators to support them in identifying helpful resources or planning emotional intelligence experiences and lessons.
Educator Support Program
Working with individual or small groups of educators to profile children’s needs and create wellbeing plans to support children who are struggling in an early childhood or school setting using tailored tools and templates. These conversations are aimed at transforming practice, increasing reflective capacity, and creating a safe space for educators to creatively problem solve with support to reframe challenges through a behaviour guidance approach.
